T.R. Ministry of Economy’s Experienced Figure Esin Açıkgöz Joined Grant Thornton Turkey

With over 30 years of experience in audit, tax, accounting and consultancy services, Grant Thornton Turkey has taken on board Esin Açıkgöz who was working as the Head of both Textile and Clothing Products Department and Branding and R&D Supports Department at the Turkish Ministry of Economy’s General Directorate of Exports.

Having graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science, Department of Business Administration, in 2004 Esin Açıkgöz entered the Turkish Prime Ministry, Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, as a Junior Expert. Certified as a Foreign Trade Expert in 2007, between 2012 and 2014 Esin Açıkgöz studied for and received her MBA from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business in the US. She completed her concentrated studies in Strategy, Corporate Finance and Investments. In the period 2015-2017, she served as the Department Director of Textile and Ready-to-Wear Products and Department Director of Brand-Building and R&D Subsidies at Turkish Ministry of Economy, General Directorate of Exports. During her tenure at the Ministry, Esin Açıkgöz engaged in efforts to increase brand-name exports of Turkey, as part of leading prestigious projects such as Turquality, and Design Week of Turkey and has worked on strategic projects for the improvement of institutionalization processes of firms. In addition to her service as the Executive Board of Design Turkey, she was also a member of Turquality Board, Design Assistance Board and National Cotton Council. Currently she is pursuing a Ph.D. at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration. Esin Açıkgöz has been with Grant Thornton Turkey since 2017. She is married and the mother of one.

As the Head of Management Consultancy Services, she provides corporate and strategic advisory, change management, brand management, human resources, supply chain, optimization of operational efficiency as well as internal audit and internal controls services.
